Executive Summary

What We Found

Dr. Elliott's trilogy is built on one of the strongest narrative spines we have audited this year: a real prophecy, spoken over a mountain lion encounter at twenty-three, that unfolds across five decades and three books. The storytelling is coherent. The branding is not yet.

The three covers are individually strong but do not yet signal one another. The titles follow two different naming patterns. Most importantly, the books are not linked as a formal series on the major retailers, which means a reader who finishes Book 1 is not automatically handed Books 2 and 3. That single gap quietly leaves readers, and revenue, on the table.

The good news is that every gap identified in this audit is fixable without touching the books themselves. No rewriting and no re-covering. The work is positioning, metadata, and a unifying brand layer laid over writing that is already excellent. The 90-day roadmap below sequences it from highest leverage to lowest.

6776.7/10

Aligned layout grid and visual hierarchy book to book.

Series Signal

A visible series lockup so a browser reads all three as one story.

3554.3/10

Key Finding: Series Signal Gap

The three covers share a warm, earthy sensibility, but there is no shared series lockup, no anchor color repeated across all three, and no consistent title typography. A reader who discovers Book 3 has no instant visual cue that it belongs with Book 1. This is the single biggest barrier to binge-reading across the set.

Strength to Build On

Books 2 and 3 already share a strong cadence and a cooler, mountain-leaning palette. The desert warmth of Book 1 can be carried forward as a recurring accent, giving the series a recognizable color signature without replacing any existing cover.

Section 02

Title & Naming Architecture

How the three titles read as a set on a retailer page.

Book 1

Medicine and Miracles in the High Desert

Descriptive phrase, place led.

Book 2

From Mountains to Medicine

The From X to Y cadence begins.

Book 3

From Doctor to Healer

The From X to Y cadence continues.

Recommendation

Adopt a single umbrella series name, for example "The Medical Detective Memoirs" or "The Mountain Lion Trilogy", and apply it consistently across all three titles and every retailer. Pair it with a shared series tagline that carries the prophecy thread, so the naming pattern reads as intentional rather than accidental.

Section 03

Metadata & Discoverability

The quiet mechanics that decide whether a series is found as a series.

Series Linkage

Missing

The three books are not grouped as a formal Amazon, Apple, or Kobo series. Readers cannot buy or wishlist the set in one action.

Series Name

Absent

No umbrella series name is applied consistently across retailers. The trilogy reads as three standalone titles.

Category Overlap

Partial

Books sit in overlapping but not identical categories. Aligning to a single primary category lifts series discoverability.

Keyword Architecture

Inconsistent

Backend keywords differ per book. A shared keyword set would surface all three together in search.

Section 04

Reader Expectation Mapping

The threads a reader carries from one book to the next.

The Mountain Lion Prophecy

High spine

Introduced in Book 1 and fulfilled in Book 3. The strongest spine of the series and currently under-foregrounded in the blurbs.

Cultural Humility and Listening

High spine

A consistent ethical through-line. We recommend a shared series tagline anchored here.

The Healer's Evolution

Medium spine

Teacher to climber to doctor to healer. The arc is clear but never named as a journey in the marketing copy.

The trilogy already has the rarest thing, a story that earns its length. The work ahead is packaging, positioning, and reach, which is exactly what BookNest Collective is built to do. We would be glad to continue as Dr. Elliott's series partner through the roadmap above.
